Half-day pottery experience

For groups of up to 10, this half-day experience is perfect for small teams or groups looking to celebrate an occasion by exploring ceramics in a fun and social setting.
This fun four-hour private experience covers an introduction to throwing on the pottery wheel as well as the chance to get creative with painting your own mug. You'll take it in turns to throw pots in our studio and paint under the shade of our sunny veranda, with the option to enjoy a grazing board and refreshments while you create.
You'll learn:
- The basics of clay preparation
- Centering and throwing clay on the wheel
- How to shape the clay into bowls, cups and more
- A variety of painting techniques to create your own pottery masterpiece
The class includes:
- Guided wheel throwing session
- Pottery painting tips and tuition
- Step-by-step instruction for beginners
- One-on-one feedback and assistance
- All tools, materials, and clay provided
- Firing and glazing of one wheel thrown piece and a painted mug (available for pick-up at a later date)
Please note, this class is suitable for 14+ years. Students under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Group pricing:
- Starting at $700 for up to 5 people
- +$100 per extra head up to 10 people
Extras:
Add sweet and/or savoury grazing boards to elevate your experience and complete the perfect team day. We work with local businesses to provide the following on request:
- Savoury grazing board ($85) - selection of cheeses and meats
- Sweet grazing board ($95) - selection of small cakes and cookies

Additional info
- The studio is located in Porepunkah, just off the rail trail. There is on-street parking but it is limited. We would encourage you to carpool, walk or cycle where possible. There is plenty of secure parking for bicycles.
- Although clay doesn't stain, we recommend you wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. You may wish to bring an apron if you have one.
- The studio can get cold, so please bring appropriate clothing to keep warm.
- Please note, pottery can be temperamental, and while we'll do absolutely everything to ensure you pieces make it through the entire process successfully, sometimes unavoidable accidents do happen.
Terms & conditions
- The minimum age to participate is 14 years. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
- If you are unable to attend a workshop, you can transfer your ticket to another person up to 1 week prior to the workshop start date. Please notify us of the change of attendance.
- In the event that you cannot attend a workshop and you cannot fill your place, the below refund options apply:
- 100% if you cancel at least two weeks before the date the workshop starts.
- 50% if you cancel up to one week before the workshop starts.
- There will be no refund if you cancel less than one week before the workshop starts.
- If a workshop is cancelled due to circumstances outside of our control, we will do our best to accommodate you with a replacement workshop date. If we are unable to reschedule the workshop, we will issue you with a full refund.
